What is Upland?

Launched in 2019, Upland is your forever, real-world city-builder and property trading game where the map and your progress never reset, and player actions shape living neighborhoods. Virtual properties (mapped to real addresses) and digital assets (e.g., cars, décor, Uppies) can be traded peer-to-peer, and—where eligible—sold for USD. Players have earned over US$20 million to date in peer-to-peer trades. In an open, player-driven economy, residents develop neighborhoods, run shops, and collaborate on small and large-scale projects.

Why Upland Is Different

* Most city-builder games give you a private map only, which resets (all the time). Upland gives you the real world, one shared map, and a memory.

* One shared map, real places. Every Architect (you, the player) acts on the same global map tied to real-world addresses. Your property becomes your block. Together with other Architects, you shape your neighborhood.

* A real player-driven economy. Players own and trade properties, structures, vehicles, plants, animals, and Uppies peer-to-peer. Supply, demand, and strategy set every price, not an algorithm.

* Permanence. Live since 2019. No seasonal wipes. The first San Francisco properties from 2019 still belong to the players who minted and haven't sold them.

* Sell in-game items. Eligible digital assets can be listed on Upland's marketplace for USD via Thunes, our regulated payment partner. After identity verification, you can withdraw USD proceeds to PayPal. Live since 2020. Regional availability, fees, and tax obligations apply.

* Accessible depth. Start fast on mobile or web. Go deeper by completing collections, property trading, shops, city planning, finding troves, befriending Uppies, and live events.

* A positive, helpful community. Many years of accumulated assets, social bonds, player-run businesses, and shared history. AI can't clone this.

What is Sparklet?

SPARKLET is Upland's native utility token. It is an ERC-20 token that can be bridged to and from EOS. Ecosystem participants use Sparklet for various functions:

- Players need SPARKLET to build and develop their properties and neighborhoods with various buildings and structures. - Entrepreneurs and creators use SPARKLET to build shops, factories, and showrooms to facilitate their "Metaventures"—player-owned and operated businesses serving as specialized primary and secondary market shops in the economy.
